BKTEF organises 39th Monthly Study Circle for Bacha Khan Fellows Speakers and participants in the 39th Monthly Study Circle organised by Bacha Khan Trust Educational Foundation (BKTEF) at Bacha Markaz on 23rd Nov 2019 were of the opinion that men and women were equal and that gender roles were constructed. Our Inspiration

We take our inspiration from the Azad schools initiative of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan (1890-1988), dearly called Baacha Khan by his people. He was the 20th century Pashtun reformer and non-violent freedom fighter of the Indian sub-continent against the British rule.

Achievements

Over the past ten years, the BKTEF succeeded to expand Baacha Khan Schools vertically and horizontally. The BKTEF also succeeded to train thousands of youth and teachers. See domains of Schools and Success Stories above.

Aspirations

The BKTEF aspires to bring about Social Transformation through Critical Education, Youth Empowerment and Culture Revival. The BKTEF aspires to focus on female education in the future because of low female literacy rate in the target areas as well as threats readmore

Challenges

Religious extremism, precarious security situation, demand of the communities & non availability of adequate resources are some of the challenges in areas of operation for BKTEF; however, our work has not been hampered so far by these challenges readmore
