BKTEF holds seminar for Peshawar Region

"The development of an enlightened society which has relations based on human dignity and pluralist democracy requires an alternative narrative. The alternative narrative should consist of critical thinking, individual empowerment, aesthetic and civic consciousness, gender equality and protection of the environment. The Baacha Khan Trust Educational Foundation (BKTEF) has been doing exactly the same through implementing a model of education at all Baacha Khan Schools", said Dr. Khadim Hussain, Director BKTEF,

in a seminar organised by the BKTEF for Peshawar region at Baacha Khan School Gandigar, Upper Dir.

The seminar was held on 20th April 2018 which was participated by activists, elders of of the area, youth of the area, educationists, faculty and principal of Baacha Khan School Gandigar, Upper Dir and literati of the area in large number.

Raja Amir Zaman, a candidate for Pakistan's central assembly in the upcoming elections, threw light on the socio-economic conditions of the area and emphasised the need for the alternative paradigm formulated by the BKTEF. He pledged to support the narrative and implementation of the narrative through Baacha Khan School Gandigar all in ways possible.

Mian Iftikhar Khan, a social activist, elaborated on the importance of alternative education for an enlightened society and stressed the participants to support the model developed by the BKTEF.

Mian Sherin Zada and Javed Khan, well known educationists of the area, illustrated the need for a pluralist, enlighten and democratic society with examples from the societies of the region and the wider world.

The seminar was ended with vote of thanks by the principal Baacha Khan School.
