Political Leadership Training for the youth of district Mansehra and Batagram Organized

 

Political Leadership Training for the youth of district Mansehra, D.I khan and Batagram concluded successfully on September 22, 2014. The training was held at the BKTEF Directorat from September 22, 2014 to September 26, 2014. Thirty participants attended the training. Resource Persons of the training were:

1. Dr. Khadim Hussain

2. Prof. Dr. Ijaz Khan

3. Prof. Dr. Sarfaraz Khan

4. Mr. Amjad Bhatti

5. Mr. Imran Khan

6. Ms. Samira Shams

On the first day of the Training Mr. Imran Khan conducted a session on “Communication and Leadership skills”. The session included discussion and activities on critical thinking, listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.

On second day Prof. Dr. Ijaz Khan conducted a session on “Emerging Contours of Regional Politics”. He explained regional security complex on Barry Buzan model. Foreign policies of five major regional powers policy were discussed keeping in view the post 2014 US withdrawal.

On third day Prof. Dr. Sarfraz Khan conducted an interactive session on “Political Thought” explaining different socio political and socio economic systems. The social contract theory was explained in the light of various philosophies.

Ms Samira Shams conducted session on Women Rights and the concept of development. She discussed the concept of Gender and how gender is constructed and perpetuated in the society. She also highlighted the negative implications of gender construction on the process of socialization. Furthermore, she discussed the economic development concept with reference Amartya Sen. She also explained Millennium Development Goals and analyzed goal wise status of Pakistan accordingly

Managing Director BKTEF Dr. Khadim Hussain conducted sessions on Human Rights, Political Concepts, Militancy and Extremism. The militant and pluralist discourses were juxtaposed while explaining the socio-cultural dynamics in Pakistan. In his session on “Human Rights”, he chronologically traced the evolution of human rights back to 5000 years. He also threw light on Baacha Khan’s Khudai Khidmatgar Movement and Nelson's Mendala’s non-violent political movement. On the last day of the Training a session on History of Political Thought in South Asia was conducted by Dr Khadim Hussain. A brief history of Indus civilization and independence movement of Pakistan was discussed.

In the evening session of the last day of the training Mr. Amjad Bhatti conducted session on “Political Narratives in Pakistan”. He discussed the history of Constitutional development of Pakistan, 18th amendment and Charter of Democracy. At the end of the training, certificates were distributed among the successful candidates. The training was organized and facilitated by Admin Department of the BKTEF.

The Training was ended with a vote of thanks from MD BKTEF Dr. Khadim Hussain.
