Meeting with the Management of the PODA
Managing Director BKTEF Dr. Khadim Hussain held a meeting with the Executive Director of Potohar Organization for Development Advocacy (PODA) Ms. Samina Nazir on October 27, 2011 at the BKTEF Directorate. Agenda of the meeting was to identify areas of mutual collaboration and how both organizations can facilitate and support each other in conducting their activities.
Meeting started with a brief pictorial documentary on the schools system of the BKTEF and other activities of the BKTEF followed by a detailed discussion on the various aspects of the BK School System. During the discussion, MD BKTEF explained the importance of mother language and its relation with the creative and cognitive development of a child. He also said that establishing schools with the name of Baacha Khan whose help the common people correlate themselves with the movement and own the schools. He also said that for all those teachers who want to become part of the BK School system, it is important to know about the vision, mission and the philosophy of the BKTEF. In order to build capacity of the teachers, the BKTEF arranges three types of trainings for the teachers of Baacha Khan Schools, namely, Basic Teachers Training Course, Subject Based Trainings and Need Based Trainings. Executive Director PODA said that the BKTEF has truly laid a strong basis of the BK school systems, where along with the academic skills creativity of the students is also enhanced. She said that this truly is a Model and should be replicated widely.
After a detailed discussion, it was decided that the BKTEF and PODA can share and replicate the experiences of one another and that both the organizations agree to provide all sort of possible support in organizing activities in Islamabad and in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA
