Baacha Khan Trust Educational Foundation

Khyber Saqafati Jirga was formally formed by Baacha Khan Trust Educational Foundation (BKTEF) here on Thursday June 23, 2011. Khyber Agency is an important area of FATA where cultural activities have been affected due to terrorism. Initiating such activities is a big step towards preserving indigenous cultural heritage and promoting Pashtun Culture. For such purpose a Jirga of the community members comprising of elders, scholars, writers, poets, artists, artisans and craftsmen was called. Muhammad Arif, Project Coordinator of the BKTEF briefed the Jirga regarding BKTEF’s cultural project and cultural activities in different districts and agencies of Pakhtunkhwa. He highlighted the need and purpose Community Cultural Clubs. After an intensive discussion the cabinet and the next meeting was scheduled to be held on July 03, 2011.
